RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CURRICULUM INTENT

Our Religious Education curriculum is inclusive so that all pupils (regardless of their personal beliefs) can take part in meaningful, challenging and engaging lessons.  We strive to ensure that children acquire and develop knowledge, understanding and tolerance of all principal religions represented in Great Britain, as well as globally.

Our pupils are encouraged to appreciate the way that religion and religious beliefs shape lives and behaviours, and we develop our pupils’ abilities in making reasoned and informed judgements about religious and moral issues.  At Bellingham Middle school, our RE curriculum nurtures pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, and is instrumental in ensuring our pupils are kind, respectful, resilient citizens when they leave us for the next stage of their education.
