On Tuesday, lucky pupils from all year groups travelled to Corbridge Middle School this week to meet Katherine Rundell, children’s writer and famous author of ‘Rooftoppers’. Katherine gave an inspiring talk about her work as a writer, including fascinating insights into research for her novels. Who would have thought that learning to fly, training on a trapeze, tightrope walking, swimming with wild pink dolphins and even eating piranhas would feature in her day’s work?! We also enjoyed her top tips for story writing, and came away surprised about how many drafts it takes to actually get a novel published.
