Girls Football Festival

News

13th October 2016

We have received a lovely letter from Wallsend Boys Club after our girls teams took part in the #wecanplay girls football festival:

Thanks for entering teams into our #wecanplay festival last week, ran by Wallsend Boys Club and Tyne Met College in partnership with Northumberland FA.

In the u13 age group Bedlington High School came out winners, with Bellingham Middle School being runners up in a very closely contested final. It was a fantastic game to watch, massive well done to both schools and the attitudes of both teams were spot on!

In the u15 age group John Spence finished as both winners and runners up, a top footballing school! Again the girls represented the school fantastically – well done!

The fair play cups have been awarded to Kings Priory in the u15 category and Valley Gardens in the u13 category, for brilliant sportsmanship and attitude throughout the day. We will drop these into the schools reception on Thursday.

All schools were a massive credit to themselves on the day, I think everyone can agree! We were hugely impressed by everyones attitudes and the games of football going on.

If any girls at your school are not yet playing in a team and would like help to find a team please get in touch with me & Carl or Nicola Hepworth from Northumberland FA and we can pass on some details of local clubs.

We will keep your school updated on our next events and will hopefully see you all again soon! Good luck in your next school football matches.

Many thanks,
